Cummins Dodge 5.9 1989 - 2002

BD offers flowed turbine housings for low and high rpm boost control to match your engine's air flow potential. Waste gated and non-waste gated housings are available for your high horsepower diesel power-plant!

The stock turbocharger exhaust housing on the 94-98 12-valve engine is a 12 cubic centimeter (cc) that performs well on engines developing up to 250 hp. Once you have eclipsed this level, the exhaust flow is so high that the stock housing creates a high drive pressure that actually prevents boost pressure from entering the combustion chamber!

In the 1989/90 5.9 6BTA Cummins an 18 cc housing is a little too large, creating turbo lag. This problem can be eliminated with a BD 16 cc housing.
